Colin Perkins
HR Manager / Director

Originating within engineering and being experienced in a range of sectors including freight forwarding, transport, haulage, printing, travel and retail, Colin established PSM to provide a generalist HR support function for SME organisations covering all of the principal aspects of HR expertise including Employment Law, Employee Relations, contractual documentation, recruitment, training & development and HR strategy.

Colin’s experience encapsulates all aspects of HR, combined with a profound and strategic understanding of line and senior management issues. His experience includes an in-depth knowledge of managing employment law, employee relations, Tribunal claims and Merger & Acquisition projects; development of performance management systems, management of redundancy, restructuring and TUPE transfers projects and management coaching/mentoring.

Colin’s interests are wide ranging, covering the inevitable love of gardening and family days, to driving his Lotus which he has enjoyed for some 20+ years and above all trekking and travelling to and across far flung places. These have included Nepal, trekking in the Himalayas and travelling from Kathmandu down to the Chitwan National Park, Cambodia (“Angkor Wat”), North Vietnam from Hanoi through to the Northern mountains, Eastern Africa from Nairobi down to Zanzibar, through Belize (British Honduras) from Belize city and across to see the Mayan ruins on the border of Guatemala, but is holding back on Syria for a while! Alan Whicker has nothing on our Colin!

Allison Murray
HR Manager

Allison is a highly qualified Human Resource professional with a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management, supplemented by a broad based generalist HR career encapsulating multiple sectors across both corporate and SME commercial organisations and ranging from facilities management of catering, cleaning, security services through to leisure and retail services.

Allison has been extensively and proactively involved in all core HR activities over the last 10 years, most recently in the retail sector and has specialised in creating effective and professional working relationships with senior and line management teams, by providing practical, pro-active and commercially orientated advice on every aspect of the HR profession. As a consequence, her responsibilities have included the effective interpretation, implementation and management of employment law, recruitment across a broad range of roles, compensation & benefits, training & development, the implementation and management of discipline/performance management & grievance procedures including the management of appeal procedures and restructuring/redundancy programmes, TUPE, and performance management & appraisal/development systems, all whilst ensuring that these added real “bottom line” monetary value to the organisation.

Allison enjoys spending quality time with her family and visiting her parents in Bournemouth and loves listening to music, watching action films and socialising with her friends, but above all, ensuring that she instils a sense of fun in everything that she does, both at work and play.

Jacob Kirkham
HR Officer

Jacob has joined PSM after working for 5 years within the retail sector and discovered his interest in HR through his Business A-Level and his mums work, also in HR. He is building strong foundations for an exciting career in the HR sector.

In his spare time, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family and his partner. He takes great care of his car and can easily spend hours detailing and cleaning it. His partner also shares this interest and they often clean their cars together at weekends. In addition, he also enjoys helping out at his grandparents horticultural nursery, and often goes there during his breaks for some lunch.

Freja King
HR Administrator

Freja joins PSM with two years of strategic marketing experience in the enterprise software sector, bringing deep expertise in stakeholder engagement and communications strategy.

A languages graduate from the University of St Andrews, Freja has developed exceptional cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences. Her academic background provides a strong foundation for building relationships across international teams and markets. After university, she spent time in Switzerland where she became a qualified ski instructor, gaining valuable experience in adapting communication styles and building rapport with people from different ethical and cultural backgrounds.

Outside of work, Freja maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys a variety of pursuits. She's passionate about running, enjoys walking her dog, and practices yoga regularly, which helps maintain balance and focus in both her personal and professional life. Freja is also an avid reader who enjoys exploring different genres and perspectives. Additionally, she plays lacrosse for the Guildford Gators, where she values the teamwork and competitive spirit that the sport brings.

Alison Rodger
Bookkeeper

After finishing her education, Alison launched her career in banking, working for a large corporate company in London. However, when she moved to Surrey, she decided to work closer to home.

In November 2024, Alison joined PSM, bringing with her over 20 years of valuable experience in accounting, payroll, and management accounts. As a skilled bookkeeper, she now works closely with small and medium businesses, helping them navigate various software programs to meet their financial needs.

Beyond her professional life, Alison enjoys a rich family life that includes a young grandson who brings her great joy. She has a passion for travel, which led her to purchase a house in Turkey where she loves to escape. At home, Alison enjoys entertaining friends and stays active through agility training with her beloved dog, Winnie. Whether she's spending quality time with family and friends or taking peaceful walks with Winnie through the Surrey countryside, Alison values the balance between her rewarding career and fulfilling personal life.

Jamie Cunningham
HR Manager / Director

Jamie is an experienced Human Resource and Employment Law professional, originally focusing on commercial law and subsequently transferring his legal expertise into the HR and Employment Law profession. In Jamie’s previous HR role, he supported significant numbers of varied clients across a vast array of sectors encompassing airlines, investments banks, international shipping, travel & tourism to freight, the NHS, care industry and rail, simultaneously providing commercial advice, documentation and support on all HR and related matters and adding value to the HR expertise and its application within organisations with staff numbers ranging from ten employees to over a thousand.

Jamie has extensive experience representing and defending Employment Tribunal claims, in leading business change through M&A, TUPE and advising on business strategy and employee relations, creating and implementing new employee documentation and developing, writing and delivering bespoke training courses on a range of HR related subjects to meet a specific business objective or HR strategy.

He has previously worked in an advisory capacity to the recruitment industry on HR, commercial and employment law matters, specifically assisting employment businesses to navigate through the laws surrounding recruitment and prior to this period, for the HMRC Solicitor’s Office in London. Jamie’s qualifications include an LL.B (Hons) in Law and the Certificate in Legal Practice from the prestigious Inns of Court School of Law and he is a qualified recruiter.

Jamie is a family man who enjoys spending time with his partner, four young children and going out on country walks with their mad dog and trying to keep fit. If he could, Jamie would spend as much time as possible tinkering with classic cars, particularly his vintage VW Beetle, however he acknowledges that some understanding of a vehicle mechanics, would enhance this hobby, but this minor knowledge deficit does not seemingly detract from his overall enjoyment of cars of course!

Claire is a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in the fintech sector, where she began her HR career and played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s talent acquisition processes, employee engagement programs, and performance management systems. Her ability to navigate the unique challenges of the fintech landscape has equipped her with a deep understanding of the industry’s demands and the importance of agile HR practices.

Following her tenure in fintech, Claire honed her consultancy skills by supporting a diverse range of SMEs across various sectors. She provided tailored HR solutions that addressed specific organisational needs. Her consultancy experience has allowed her to cultivate a versatile skill set, enabling her to adapt to different business environments and drive impactful results by delivering pragmatic and actionable advice to business owners and leaders.

Claire focuses on building strong relationships with clients, which allows her to gain a deep understanding of their unique business challenges and objectives. This collaborative approach enables her to tailor HR solutions that not only address immediate needs but also align with long-term strategic goals.

Passionate about empowering businesses to thrive, Claire is dedicated to helping organisations navigate the complexities of human resources with confidence and clarity. She believes that effective HR practices are essential for driving business success and is committed to supporting clients in achieving their goals through tailored, practical solutions.

In her personal time, Claire enjoys travelling to new destinations and trying new foods (and trying to recreate new dishes), as well as running and attending early morning boot camp classes.

Leah Jerrard
Senior HR Administrator

Leah comes to PSM with over 10 years administration experience, along with a wide range of Microsoft office/IT knowledge gained within a variety of sectors, primarily within social housing & furniture manufacturing.

Leah enjoys and thrives in a fast paced, busy and dynamic working environment, which PSM are proving to be. She is extremely excited to get stuck into a new challenge within HR and to be a part of a growing, reputable company such as PSM, as the HR sector has always been of interest to her.

In her spare time, Leah enjoys cleaning her car, taking her two dogs out on long muddy walks, shopping and exploring new locations in the UK with her partner (along with a few bottles of wine), as well as dedicating time to her friends and family (including a traditional family roast dinner every Sunday!)

Madeleine Perkins
Financial Director

Initiated her career within British Airways in a variety of roles from secretarial through to senior PA responsibilities. Alongside two others she conceptualised a specialised Care in the Community Service to assist disadvantaged local residents and this is still operating to serve the community some 25 years later.

Madeleine is a joint owner of both PSM and simultaneously purchased and developed a major property and established and managed a serviced office organisation. During this period, she further expanded her range of skills to incorporate sales, accounting and facilities management, somehow also finding the “spare” time to complete a BA in the Classics.

Since appointing a bookkeeper to oversee the day to day accounts for PSM, Madeleine has now taken time out to spend with her granddaughter and whilst maintaining oversight on the finances for the Company, she can enjoy her creative side again, among a variety of her interests she enjoys upholstering antique furniture and making exquisite leaded stained glass panels.
